narkusmaslund:

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Canucks ownership, management and coaches for the opportunity to have been a part of such wonderful organization.

I would like to thank my teammates for the friendship, hard-fought battles, and all of their support over the years. Most importantly, I would like to thank the fans in Vancouver for their support. I was not always a perfect player, but I always gave my best and I appreciate the way the fans treated me.

It is an honor and a privilege to have been able to call myself a Vancouver Canuck and I wish everyone associated with the organization the best of the luck.

Thank you.

Sami, as a fan, it was a privilege and an honour to have watched you play all these years as a Canuck, no, thank you.

“The D-core is definitely a lot closer here, I think, than the rest of the team…”

Sami Salo’s 2-1 almost game winning goal

“The temptation has always been to make jokes, and heaven knows we’ve made a few of them here. But in the end… the saga of Sami Salo is less about the weird and awful ways he’s been knocked down than the number of times he’s got up again without complaint.” — Cam Cole, Vancouver Sun
